hell it's at times like these when i REALLY feel like i need a digicam. damn. alot to write, and absolutely no pictures (lyn why aren't you online??!!) ok, so update on what's been happening so far. it's holidays now, or rather, until tomorrow ends. so, made the most of the lazing opportunity offered by these 2 weeks. i swear i really maximised it, been eating and sleeping more than is good for me. so yeah, went for dim sum buffet with the asian-not-in-creative-arts peeps last thursday, basically ate and ate and ate. $17, not too bad. the mango pudding sucked though.
on friday, watched team america at mac's place. god that movie's fucking funny, i should try buy the vcd and bring it back home, so i can let everybody get some of the matt stone-trey parker goodness that twisted people like me enjoy so much. so yeah, laughed my ass off, but for all its toilet humour and absolute political-incorrectness, it makes a pretty astute satire on the whole bush-iraq thing. my fave character? kim jong il. yup. you read it right. i'll have to get that vcd double quick. well, after that, it was off to dinner at this korean restaurant where won works at. the food was really good, and so again, ate ALOT. then walked around chapel st with mac, but it was late so all the stores were already closed. and thank god for that. i doubt many people know how much of a shopaholic i am, to its
true extent, that is. then went home and slept and did nothing the whole weekend.
tuesday this week: went to brunetti's to celebrate won's birthday, after a full day of working in the studio. then after that, went pubbing, or at least tried to. we first went to lounge along swanston street, this was at about 11-ish. i was a little nuts, got myself a cowboy, a sex on the beach cocktail, and a rum and cola all at the same time (note: i didn't have dinner that night), and swigged beer from mac. and, just when we were getting comfy (11.30 like that), we were told that the bar was closing. like wwwwwwwwtf?!?!?!?! is this a pub or is it a bloody childcare centre???? so of course we left, disgusted. next we headed over to melbourne central hoping that the bar there was still open. it was a strike-out. i
swear, this is unheard-of for me. pub = place that opens till late, meaning till at least PAST MIDNIGHT GODDAMN YOU. so we hauled butt out onto swanston again, and found a little late-night bowling alley cum pool parlour with a bar. so we sat there and got a smirnoff black each (the girls at least), but the bar was going to close TOO (now you know why i say we
tried to pub??) then we tried to find this pub someone's friend mentioned, but it was closed already, so we headed to bourke st and went to this little chinese restaurant for supper. yeah, the ONLY place that would be open at this time is a chinese restaurant. we're asians, we're OBSESSED with food. we eat any hour of any day, anywhere we may be. it's our first concern, and our last wish. and i think people get the idea. we packed pei dan zhou, then stopped by a liquor shop and bought banana split shots (pack of six) and a bottle of malibu, grabbed some orange juice from 7-11 and headed to mac's place to carry on the party. most people left at this time though, so it was pared down to 6 people. we ate, then drank, and ended up playing a drinking game. yup, we were smashed. i vaguely remember catwalks, porridge-and-malibu cocktails, lapdances and finger-sucking. lyn, won and myself crashed at mac's, slept at about 3something 4.
it doesn't end there folks, not yet. i woke up at 9 the next day, and lyn and won headed off but mac and i lazed about in bed for another hour, until i summoned the willpower to drag myself out of bed, cos i had to go meet farhan and bring him SHOPPING!! yayy... haha took him to smith street, it's where they've got the nike and adidas warehouses, as well as some surf brands. we went pretty loco, and i found a goth shop too! haha went in but farhan was really uncomfortable, so we didn't stay too long. i was pretty interested in one of the outfits in the window: a red and black striped racerback with black pants and a cute pair of black and white suspenders^^. funky, without being freaky and OTT. there were boots, though, that even japanese platform-freaks would balk at. i swear, you could use the soles as a hiding place to stash your life-savings if you didn't have a bank account. or to smuggle illegal baby hamsters into whatever place you're travelling to. so yeah, there was this charity drive thingamajig at nike, where a donation of 3 tins of canned food would get you 30% off your purchase. being typical singaporeans, farhan and i ran to the nearest 7-11 and got *surprise surprise* 3 of the cheapest canned stuff we could find, and brought it to nike. *evil laugh* few people are THAT crazy. but yeah, the cans cost farhan $5, and he got $51 off his purchase, well worth the effort eh? hahaha. took him for a short tour of the uni after that, realised once again that it really really is a very pretty place. it takes fresh eyes to help you see things afresh again. had jap for dinner, got caught in the rain (while wearing SLIPPERS no less), and got home cold and dripping wet. *nods* it was a nice day, yup. just a sucky ending. and now, i've a blister and my legs hurt like hell. but still, i wouldn't have missed it for the world. and mac's colour-reviving conditioner has exacerbated my grow-out. now i'm tempted to dye my hair black too. then i can go full-out goth XD
like real
