i'm so tired. so fucking tired. i don't know how long i can survive here. there's so much to do, and so little time, unless i give up sleep totally. been getting by on an average of 4 or 5 hours of sleep every day, and i don't even know what i do with the time, that's the worst thing. if it had gone to something constructive, maybe it'd be worth it, but it doesn't seem that way at all. now i dream of sleeping in. sad life.
there was an anti-vsu march today. actually, they have these rallies practically every week, but today was the first time i actually saw them in action. it was a scene straight out of a movie, with a whole conglomerate of students carrying picket signs and red flags and marching through the city streets, complete with chanting leaders on slow-moving trucks and flanking policemen on horseback, no less. traffic was stopped in its tracks, trams were held up, and people simply had this 'ok just get it over and done with' look on their faces. it's hard to get pissed at them when they're fighting for something they believe in, and their dynamism is kind of inspiring: alot of people are so passionate about these movements, asking entire lectures to attend and walking around uni with megaphones and such. i refuse to participate in any of these, though, cos it's not my country, their politics are their business, and i'm not such a nosy parker.
also saw neha on the tram today, which was really unexpected cos the last time i saw her was 3 years ago. i had no idea she had moved to melbourne right after her o's, and she's currently in her second year at uni, cos she skipped the bloody a levels and went straight to year 12. we talked a bit, and it was weird cos now she's got this really strong aussie accent, and it was totally incongruous (to me anyway) to have that sort of voice coming from neha. i do
not want to sound like that.
btw, read 'good omens'. it rocks.
